DE Während der internationale Klassikbetrieb im Frühjahr 2022 wieder an Fahrt aufnimmt, gibt es ein Festival, das einen ungewöhnlichen Luxus bietet. Nicht im Sinne von Glamour – auch wenn Stars dabei sind. Sondern im Sinne von Zeit, Muße und spontan-intensiv erlebten Momenten: Musizierende Freunde und das Publikum kommen zusammen, um sich mit größtmöglicher Freiheit und viel Raum für Fantasie der Musik zu widmen.
Mit der besonders familiären Atmosphäre sorgt das Martha Argerich Festival der Symphoniker Hamburg seit 2018 weit über die Grenzen Hamburgs hinaus für Aufsehen. Denn es ist anders als »Events«, im gesamten Klassikbetrieb hat es eine außergewöhnliche Stellung inne. Einmal jährlich wird das Karussell aus Reisen, Gastspielen und Tourneeauftritten angehalten. So entsteht Raum für intensive, spontane, zugängliche und im besten Sinne ungeplante Momente auf Weltspitzenniveau. In den bislang drei Festivals festigte sich ein enges Band zwischen der Namensgeberin, den beseelten Künstlerinnen und Künstlern und dem begeisterten Publikum.
Bereits zum vierten Mal versammeln Martha Argerich und Intendant Daniel Kühnel zusammen mit Akane Sakai vom 20. bis 29. Juni 2022 in der Laeiszhalle zahlreiche Freunde der Jahrhundertpianistin, um in freundschaftlicher Stimmung zu musizieren. In sechs Konzerten im Großen und drei Konzerten im Kleinen Saal sind Künstlerinnen und Künstler wie Martha Argerich, Daniil Trifonov, Catriona Morison, Renaud Capuçon, Marina Heredia, Stephen Kovacevich, Mischa Maisky, Sylvain Cambreling, Leonora Armellini, Michael Volle und Sergei Babayan sowie etwa die legendäre Jazz-Fusion-Band Aka Moon zu erleben. Und viele andere mehr.
Die in den Vorjahren gefeierten Duo-Auftritte von Martha Argerich mit Renaud Capuçon und mit Mischa Maisky werden erneut stattfinden, auch wird die Namensgeberin Liederzyklen begleiten. Zudem sind 2022 erstmals Klavierstar Daniil Trifonov, ungewohnte kammermusikalische Besetzungen, Musik aus aller Welt und Auftritte beispielsweise von Marina Heredia samt Band, des Sirba Octets und von Aka Moon geplant. Und als Zeichen der herzlichen Verbundenheit bildet ein gemeinsamer Auftritt von Martha Argerich (und Polina Leschenko an zwei Klavieren) mit den Symphonikern Hamburg unter Chefdirigent Sylvain Cambreling den Abschluss des Festivals.

EN As the international classical music world returns to normal in 2022, there is one festival that offers an unusual luxury. Not necessarily glamor, though plenty of stars will be present, but the luxury of time, leisure, and spontaneous shared moments of musical intensity. The audience will join a group of friends devoted to making music with the greatest possible degree of fantasy and freedom.
Since 2018, this congenial and informal atmosphere has been a defining characteristic of the Symphoniker Hamburg’s Martha Argerich Festival. Once a year, the carousel of touring and guest appearances comes to a halt, and a large and diverse group of prominent, world-famous artists come together for spontaneous, intensive, accessible and, in the best sense, unplanned musical encounters. The three festivals since 2018 have confirmed Martha Argerich’s dream of forging and deepening close bonds among the artists and with their enthusiastic listeners.
From 20—29 June 2022, Martha Argerich, Intendant Daniel Kühnel, and Akane Sakei will for the fourth time invite a group of friends to Hamburg’s Laeiszhalle. There will be six concerts in the large hall and three in the chamber music hall, featuring Martha Argerich, Daniil Trifonov, Catriona Morison, Renaud Capuçon, Marina Heredia, Stephen Kovacevich, Mischa Maisky, Sylvain Cambreling, Leonora Armellini, Michael Volle, Sergei Babayan, and many, many more, including the legendary jazz fusion band, Aka Moon.
As in previous years, Martha Argerich will take part in duo performances with Renaud Capuçon and Mischa Maisky, and will also accompany song recitals. Rising piano star Daniil Trifonov will perform at the festival for the first time, and audiences will be able to enjoy unusual chamber music programs, music from around the world, and appearances by the Sirba Octet, Aka Moon, and Marina Heredia with her band. And as a sign of Martha Argerich’s continuing friendship with the orchestra, she and Polina Leschenko will perform with the Symphoniker Hamburg and their Principle Conductor Sylvain Cambreling in the final concert of the festival.
