Lauryna Bendžiūnaitė is a Lithuanian soprano who joined the ensemble of Stuttgart Staatstheater in 2014. Her roles in Stuttgart have included Musetta, Ännchen, Zerlina, Susanna and Karolka. She has also appeared in Bieito’s new production of Purcell’s Fairy Queen under conductor Christian Curnyn and in Boesman’s Reigen. Ms Bendžiūnaitė opens this season with Susanna at the Opera National du Rhin and will also sing Zerlina, Dalinda (Händel) and Ännchen in Stuttgart.

In concert Ms Bendžiūnaitė has performed several times in Lithuania with the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Orchestra, the State Symphony Orchestra, the National Chamber Orchestra and Musica Humana. She appeared in gala concerts with Kiri Te Kanawa in London and Dublin. She toured with the Kammerorchester Basel under Trevor Pinnock with music from Purcell’s Fairy Queen and Mendelssohn’s Midsummer Nights Dream, which she also sang at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo in 2017. She appeared with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra under Marcus Stenz as the Jungfrau in Das Paradies und die peri and returned to sing in Rusalka with James Gaffigan. This summer she gave concerts of Mozart arias with the Lithuanian Chamber orchestra conducted by Robertas Servenickas.
